Test Drive

Well, I've slowly been working on the RETRO METRO this week, getting her ready for a maiden voyage to our local muffler shop. I went in to get her registered this week using a NY State registration that was signed over to me. The DMV ladies let me register it, but told me they needed an empty weight slip.... so, the dump is about 4 miles from here that has a scale.. so I fired her up, and headed down the road... with only 4 inches of exhaust - L O U D !! So, now it's sitting over at my parent's place where I will take it to the exhaust muffler shop later this week. Runs great!! Also, scored this grill off Ebay this week too... It was cold out, but the few people outside all gave me looks... I couldn't tell if it was "Cool!" or "What the hell?" Enjoy!!

Got brakes!!

Well, while running, I pumped and pumped and pumped and finally had brakes... they work, and work farily well!!! Now for an exhaust as currently there is only about 6 inches of exhaust... man it is loud!! So, here's a photo of this cool RETRO METRO in front of our 58 Airstream Sovereign of the Road - you think it can pull it. More to come!

11th Annual Moldy Marvin's Rat Fink Party

Ok, today I made lemondae out of the lemon's (the fact I wasn't home with Zoe' and my 4 boys) and went to this show: As I started walking into the grounds, what do I see.. a vintage IH Metro that was SAAAA WEET!! I met the owner - John of ACME Speed Shop and talked IH for a bit. Here are a few photos.

Very nice driver's station!

That grill just screams COOLNESS!!

Although not a dually like ours, still very cool!

I wanted to drive it away!

I'll be showing this photo to Zoe'... as this is eventually how our 57 will be looking!! Nice to have met you John!! Thanks for the cool shirt too!
